Religious Instruction
The primary responsibility of religious training lies with the parents. However, St. Andrew School is a partner in this development and, in this vein, the school provides 30 to 40 minutes of religious instruction daily. Students in Grade 2 may receive the Sacrament of penance in December and the Sacrament of the Eucharist in April. Students in Grade 8 are confirmed by the Bishop each year. Please consult the school calendar for specific dates.
Part of the religious program for students in kindergarten and Grades 1 – 5 is called the Catechesis of the Good Shepard. It is an approach to God using the principles of Montessori. The Catechesis is a form of religious formation rather than instruction and is an experience of child and adults together, and experience of the mystery of God.
